Just a short 5-minute walk from the hostel is the Melbourne Museum, and the home of the greatest racehorse of all time, Phar Lap. The Melbourne Museum showcases and variety of permanent and temporary collections, as well as a great children’s gallery.
Melbourne Cricket Ground
Just a short 15-minute walk from the hostel is the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). One of the greatest sporting venues in the world the Melbourne Cricket Ground or “The G” as it is know to locals can accommodate up to 100,000 people. It is perhaps the best-known sporting stadium in Australia, and a popular tourist attraction.
Queen Victoria Market
Another well-known Melbourne attraction is the iconic Queen Victoria Market. Located in the heart of the city and a short 15-minute walk from the hostel Queen Victoria Market offers an endless selection of some of the best local and international food available to satisfy every culinary taste.
St Kilda Beach
Every city has a favourite beach and Melbourne’s favourite and best-known beach is St Kilda. A day at the beach is like no other day and a visit to St Kilda beach is no exception. It will be hard to choose between a stroll along the boardwalk or a seafood lunch at the kiosk, located at the end of the pier.
The possibilities are endless at Melbourne’s beautiful Federation Square. Situated on the Yarra River, the National Gallery of Victoria is a short walk across Princes Bridge, or stroll along Southbank and enjoy a meal at one of the restuarants facing the river; may be just relax and take in all the sights and sounds of our beautiful city, Melbourne.
